Other than a really crappy summer job, 2005 pretty much rocked. I met a lot of new people locally, got involved in several good groups that are actually doing something, learned interesting things and completed many of my personal goals (not all listed on 43things). I hope 2006 is even better with my planned trip to Chicago for GoonCon, getting a new computer system after 3 and a half years of waiting, and learning to shoot and going hunting with friends.
Barak mentioned he wanted to learn how to play chess in one of his 43things entries, so I figure I could be the one to teach him. I love chess although I’m not that great at it. Chess is a big game in my family with some of my relatives playing competitively and myself being on the chess club in high school. So, I know the game really well and am always up for some friendly competition (I also have a really pimpin chess set).
